What this policy covers

Your privacy is important to us and so is being transparent about how we collect, use, and share information about you. This policy is intended to help you understand:

This Privacy Policy covers the information we collect about you when you use our products or services, or otherwise interact with us (for example, by communicating with us), unless a different policy is displayed.

This policy also explains your choices surrounding how we use information about you, which include how you can object to certain uses of information about you and how you can access and update certain information about you. If you do not agree with this policy, do not access or use our Services or interact with any other aspect of our business.

Where we provide the Services under contract with an organization (for example, your employer) that organization controls the information processed by the Services. For more information, please see Notice to End Users below. This policy does not apply to the extent we process personal information in the role of a processor on behalf of such organizations.

What information we collect about you

We collect information about you when you provide it to us, while you use our Services / Products.

Information you provide to us
We collect information about you when you input it into the Services or otherwise provide it directly to us.

Account and Profile Information
We collect information about you when you register for an account, create or modify your profile, set preferences, sign-up for or make purchases through the Services.

For example, you provide your contact information and, in some cases, billing information, when you register for Mame. You also have the option of adding a biography, initials, profile photo / avatar and other details to your profile information to be displayed in our Services. We also keep track of your preferences when you select settings within the Services.

Content you provide through our products
In our products we collect and store content that you post, send, receive and share. This content includes any information about you that you may choose to include.

Examples of content we collect and store include: the title and description for a site, how you publish it, your content on your website. Content also includes the files and avatars you upload to the Services. If you sell content on the Mame store, your profile (username, bio, avatar etc. - not personal information) is shared with other users and store visitors.

Content you provide through our websites and our support channels
The Services also include our websites owned or operated by us. We collect other content that you submit to these websites, which include social media or social networking websites operated by us. For example, you provide content to us when you provide feedback or when you participate in any interactive features, surveys, contests, promotions, sweepstakes, activities or events.

Cookies and Other Tracking Technologies
We and our third-party partners (for example Plausible) are using cookies and other tracking technologies to provide functionality and recognize you across different services and devices. Depending on which content your create using Mame you embed 3rd party technologies, like Disqus or Mapbox into your website in the builder. They may set cookies etc. too.

Information we may receive from other sources
We are offering OAuth authentication from various sources, we may combine the provided information by them the same as described above.

How we use the information we collect

How we use the information we collect depends in part on which Services you use, how you use them, and any preferences you have communicated to us. Below are the specific purposes for which we use the information we collect about you.

To provide the service
We use the information about you to provide the services for you, for example for authentication, loading your data, provide customer support or process transaction. We also may use your information to connect you with other team members. We also use your information to personalize your experience and our communication with you.

For your store page
If you are offering Website, Page or Section templates your profile (username, avatar, socials) are publicly shared with other users of the service. This does not include your personal information, which we may need for billing (like first and last-name or other sensitive data).

For research and development
We are always working on making our services better. For this we analyze how you use our services and try to identify areas where to improve. We also test certain features with some users before releasing them.

To keep you informed
We use your contact information to keep in touch with you, to inform you about changes, purchases, expiration and more. We also send emails when you interact with the services, for example when you enable daily digests or you are newly assigned to a task by another team member. If an opt out is available you find that option in your account settings.

Customer support
We use your information to resolve technical issues you may encounter.

For security
We use information about you to verify accounts and monitor your activity for suspicious or fraudulent activity.

With your consent
With your given consent we may use your consent for other purposes than listed above, for example testimonials, store pages and similar.

If you have consented to our use of information about you for a specific purpose, you have the right to change your mind at any time, but this will not affect any processing that has already taken place. Where we are using your information because we or a third party (e.g. your employer) have a legitimate interest to do so, you have the right to object to that use though, in some cases, this may mean no longer using the Services.

How we share the information we collect

As Mame is an collaboration and publishing tool, we may share some information also with third parties (other users).

With your consent
We share information about you with third parties when you give us consent to do so. For example, we often display your username and social media details on the your profile page for the store.

Business Transfers
We may share or transfer information we collect under this privacy policy in connection with any merger, sale of company assets, financing, or acquisition of all or a portion of our business to another company. You will be notified via email and/or a prominent notice on the Services if a transaction takes place, as well as any choices you may have regarding your information.

How we store and secure the information we collect

Information storage and security
We take your privacy serious and use industry standard technical and organizational measures to secure the information we store.

How long do we store information
How long we keep information we collect about you depends on the type of information. After such time, we will either delete or anonymize your information or, if this is not possible (for example, because the information has been stored in backup archives), then we will securely store your information and isolate it from any further use until deletion is possible.

How to access and control your information

You have the right to request a copy of your information, to object to our use of your information (including for marketing purposes), to request the deletion or restriction of your information, or to request your information in a structured, electronic format.

Some of these choices can be executed through our service directly, in the user settings.

Your requests and choices may be limited in certain areas, for example if fulfilling your request would reveal information about other persons or you ask to delete information, which we need to store out of legal reasons. Where you asked us to share information with 3rd parties you will need to contact those 3rd-party service providers directly.

Access and update your information
You can update certain information about you from within the service (for example you can change your profile, personal data etc. in the settings)

Delete your account
You can delete your account through Mame itself in the settings. Out of security reasons, we are going to deactivate it first and after a grace period for security (less than 72 hours) delete it completely (except the information described above).

Opt out of communications
You can opt out receiving promotional communications from us by using the unsubscribe link provided in each email. But you may still receive transactional emails.

Your Content

In Mame you upload, download and store content, including but not limited to, texts, graphics, videos etc. You retain ownership of any intellectual property rights that you hold in that content. When you upload content you give Mame and it's service partners a worldwide license to host, store, upload and download this content for the purpose of providing the service to you. We reserve the right to remove or refuse to distribute any content through the service including your content.

Modify and Terminating our service

We may add or remove functionalities or features. We may also suspend or stop our service with at least thirty (30) days notice prior. You can choose to stop using our service at will. We may also stop providing the Service to you, or add or create new limitations to our service at any time.

Premium Subscriptions

You may support our service by purchasing a premium subscription, which automatically renews at the end of your billing period. You can upgrade from the free service to premium at any time. After the trial or eta version, if you choose not to upgrade, you will be limited to the free service. All prices shown include all applicable taxes.

Within thirty days of your payment you can request a full refund by contacting us.

How we store and transfer information

We collect information globally and may transfer and process information outside of your country. We are storing all information on servers in the European Union (Frankfurt, Aachen and Frankenstein).
